The distance that this device works over it picked up my neighbors dog barking from 60 ft away no problems. The 9V battery is useful as well as the adapter. The 75 foot of extension cord for the AC adaptor allows you basically place it anywhere. Two remote controls which make it easy to operate and is excellent when the dog is out of range of the 75ft. Easy setup. You  just have to configure the sensitivity detection that are detailed and easy to follow in the  instruction. 

 

Cons

 

The remote has the ability to turn the device on but not off.  The battery life doesn't last long so the Adapter and the extension is a better option especially if using on a regular daily basis.
